PVRI 2022 – Congress on PVD in Athens, Greece

The Pulmonary Vascular Research Institute (PVRI) yearly organizes a World Congress on Pulmonary Vascular Disease (PVD), this year from June 22-26 in Athens, Greece.

The organization was established in 2006 to facilitate scientists, clinicians, and academics to come together and share knowledge on pulmonary vascular disease

The PVRI vision is to reduce the global burden of pulmonary vascular disease (PVD) within the next two decades. We will achieve this through global collaboration, striving for excellence in clinical care, research, and education in PVD.

PVD can be more commonly described as high blood pressure in the lungs. It is a fatal illness, often mis- or undiagnosed, that can affect people of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds, including many fit young athletes. It is estimated that over 70 million people in the world suffer from PVD, although this figure was recently challenged by several observations.

With its proprietary Functional Respiratory Imaging (FRI) technology, Fluidda can be of great help in detecting PVD and in optimizing therapy of individual patients.

During a poster session on  Friday, June 24th between 17:00 and 18:30 an abstract on research with FRI will be presented entitled “COPD-associated pulmonary hypertension detected by novel pulmonary blood vessel quantification system. Impact on clinical characteristics and outcomes”, performed in collaboration with Dr. Hector Cajigas of Mayo Clinic, Rochester.

Fluidda will be present at the conference to answer all your questions.
